With the Alabama 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway just days away, Governor Kay Ivey (R), has declared this Sunday, Oct. 15th as ‘Dale Earnhardt Jr. Day’ in the state of Alabama.
The Monster Energy Bellator MMA Fight Series heads to the legendary Talladega Superspeedway infield in Talladega, Ala. for its third event on Friday evening, Oct. 13. There will also be appearances by Former Bellator Champ and Monster Energy Athlete Michael Chandler and Heavyweight Fan-Favorite Roy Nelson.

Former Navy SEAL and HESCO BoneFrog Challenge founder Brian Carney will present the unique Freedom Trophy to the winner of the Alabama 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, Oct. 15. With the growing threat of Hurricane Irma, Talladega Superspeedway will offer a portion of its campgrounds – which will include hot shower and restroom facilities, as well as water hookups on gravel and grassy areas – free to evacuees seeking temporary refuge, beginning Thursday (Sept. 7) morning at 9 am CDT.
Governor Kay Ivey, the 54th Governor of Alabama and first female to hold the position since 1967, will say the most famous words in motorsports - “Drivers, Start Your Engines,” - prior to the Alabama 500 on Sunday, October 15.
